Winter Rule – preparing payroll for businesses

Within Winter Rule we have established a dedicated payroll bureau acting for in excess of 150 clients. The size of payroll varies from 1 employee to over 300.

Payroll – an administrative headache

As those of you who currently operate the payroll for your business are no doubt aware, this is a potentially complex area where attention to changes in legislation is paramount. This can often prove to be a distraction from “running the business”.

Payroll – why out source?

Given the popularity of our payroll bureau it seems that more and more businesses are coming to the conclusion, without much persuasion from us, that outsourcing the payroll function makes sense.

This may be a result of not wishing to deal with an area where legislation is constantly changing and where ‘a little knowledge is often a bad thing’ and this leads to less inefficient use of time researching issues such as:

  • Statutory Maternity Pay and Statutory Sick Pay
  • Changes in tax codes
  • Holiday pay
  • Payment of tax credits
  • Attachments of earnings
  • Student Loans

At best mistakes in the above areas can lead to queries from staff and at worst could lead to financial loss and problems with the Inland Revenue.
