Francis Clark has announced the appointment of Alan Turner as partner in the firm following its recent merger with Winter Rule in Truro.

Alan, who is managing director of Winter Rule Financial Planning, becomes a partner based in the Truro office.

He will continue to manage Winter Rule Financial Planning, which is in the process of merging with Francis Clark Financial Planning, creating one of the biggest independent financial advisers in Cornwall and Devon.

Once that process is complete Alan will be joint managing director of the financial planning business, along with Exeter-based Mike Wilson.

Alan said: “After 15 years with the firm I’m delighted to become a partner of the accountancy side of the business and look forward to helping to lead the larger financial planning team.

“I will still be based in Truro so clients will see no difference other than having access to an even larger team of experts, with 10 advisers across the business.”

Alan, who will also oversee the Plymouth and Tavistock operations of the financial planning team, is among just a handful of financial advisers in Cornwall with Chartered Financial Planner Status.

Chartered status is recognised as the highest level of professional standard in financial services and is awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute based on a combination of examination results and professional experience.

The combined financial planning business has four Chartered Financial Planners, among the highest number of any firm in the region.
