We have an experienced team specialising in looking after the needs of medical practices and individual GPs and have done for many years. We are well known amongst the medical profession in the South West for our expertise in this area.

A GP practice is unique among professional practices because of the complexity of funding it receives from the NHS. An understanding of these different sources of income is essential for an accountant giving advice to GP's.

We are able to assist practices to improve their profitability through our in depth knowledge of GMS and PMS practices, and by comparing results with national and local averages, to identify areas of underperformance.

We have been members of the Association of Independent Medical Accountants since 1996, and Luke Bennett sits on the Executive Committee which enables him to keep up to date with the very latest developments around the country. As part of this role Luke is also often involved in consultations with government and making responses to proposed changes in legislation that would have a financial impact on GP practices.

Our rural client base means that we act for a large number of dispensing practices and are able to advise on how to maximise the recovery of VAT and bookkeeping requirements. We have advised a number of our clients on the creation and set up of a dispensing operation.

As well as advising established GP practices we also act for a large number of locums and we have given talks to junior doctors on financial and taxation matters.

As with other clients we handle the personal tax affairs of our GP clients within the team which ensures that we achieve maximum tax efficiency for such clients in areas such as private expenses claims and personal debt financing.
