Francis Clark with Winter Rule’s Legal team is a long established team of specialists dedicated to providing specialist taxation, accounting and strategic services to the legal sector on a national basis.

Our specialist knowledge and expertise in the sector continues to attract clients from across the country many of whom we provide recurring services to in addition to specific project work.

Our expertise in the legal sector has been developed over many years and we advise a significant number of legal firms across the country ranging in both location and size from sole practitioners to substantial partnerships and LLPs including top 150 UK law firms.

The team is headed up by Andrew Allen who is well known in the South West and beyond as an expert in the sector having lectured to both district law societies and at national conferences. Andrew also sits on the ICAEW special interest group dealing with law firms and so he is often involved at an early stage in consultations on new legislation that will have a financial impact on legal firms.

Of course we provide the routine accounting, audit and tax compliance services that such clients require but this is often just the starting point for the basis of further advice.

Our large client base and experience in the sector enables us to give valuable bench marking advice highlighting areas of over and under performance. This then helps our clients in making commercial and financial decisions.

We have advised a number of major legal practices on structural matters including the conversion to LLP status.

Mergers and acquisitions is also an area where we can add value, carrying out critical financial appraisals of proposals and helping to smooth any financial issues that arise when joining entities together.
