Tax Team

We have long established tax practice but do not rest on our laurels. We continually invest in tax expertise through recruitment, specialist tax professional qualifications and ongoing technical training and development.

We have four dedicated tax specialist partners and five tax managers supported by tax seniors and assistants. We believe this is the largest collection of tax specialists in one location in the South West. Many of our partners and managers learned their tax trade with the large national accountancy firms.

Our tax specialists have national recognition having written books and articles for the technical press and also lectured to other professionals. We also provide support on tax issues for other accountancy firms.

Tax has always been and will remain at the heart of what we do because it is often the most important issue to our clients. Whether we like it or not the UK has one of the largest amounts of tax legislation in the world and navigating through it can be a minefield even for experienced professionals.

Wherever possible the tax affairs of our business clients are dealt with and managed by tax specialists within the team that deals with the accounting requirements of the business. Years of experience tells us that this delivers the most efficient service to our clients and ensures that their affairs are dealt with in a joined up manner.

However we have a large number of clients without a business interest or who have complex tax affairs outside of their business and so we have a separate tax team focused on delivering services to them and supporting the other teams within the firm.

Clients value our tax planning advice and much of this advice within the tax team relates to planning around family matters where capital taxes become particularly relevant.

Our tax team also works closely with clients in providing generic advice on tax efficient investment and financial strategy.
